Whether work-related or personal, a goal is similar to our destination during a trip. Like dream vacations of which we only imagine, goals without plans and action are merely dreams. Unfortunately, dreams alone, while exciting, do not lead to success.

To begin our journey, we choose a destination. With our goal in mind, we must select a mode of transportation, our route, and our travel companions. We need to identify each step of our journey. Our destination represents a goal, and each of our steps represents a task. We take one step at a time, but to enjoy smooth sailing, we need to identify, in advance, each of the tasks which are necessary to arrive safely and on time at our ultimate destination.
